Chalmette Business Claims $2 Million Powerball Prize

BATON ROUGE – The $2 million Powerball prize from the July 15 drawing was claimed by Seabiz Services LLC on Wednesday, August 19, at the Lottery’s Baton Rouge headquarters. The business received $1,460,000 after state and federal tax withholdings.

The ticket was purchased from South Lake Foods, also known as Sunny Times, in Violet.

The retailer received a $20,000 bonus, or 1% of the prize, for selling the ticket.

“Louisiana players win every single day, and this is a great reminder that those wins can be significant. We’re proud that Seabiz Services LLC will see the benefit of playing right here at home,” said Rose Hudson, Lottery President.

The winning numbers for the July 15 drawing were 02-07-18-29-38, and the Powerball number was 16.
